- PvE/PvP
(PvE/PvP)
- PvE
(с) MAGS
- PvE/PvP (Уровни 161+)
- PvE/PvP

Best teams for Campaign & PvE
Here are the best teams for the Campaign and PvE (Labyrinth, King’s Tower, Peaks of Time, and Voyage of Wonders) in AFK Arena.
Team 1
- Talene (Top Frontline)
- Rowan (Bottom Frontline)
- Ezizh (Bottom Backline)
- Mehira (Middle Backline)
- Elijah & Lailah (Top Backline)
This late/end game team is the strongest version of the widely used god comp strategy.
What makes this team incredibly strong is the fast energy recharge from Rowan and Elijah & Lailah, which causes Ezizh to quickly cycle through his skills, silencing the enemy team from using ultimate abilities.
Furthermore, this team has plenty of health regeneration, which is boosted by the energy regeneration by Rowan and Elijah & Lailah.
Many top players of AFK Arena who’ve progressed far into the campaign use this team late/end game team.
Team 2
- Eirron (Top Frontline)
- Zolrath (Bottom Frontline)
- Lorsan (Bottom Backline)
- Lyca (Middle Backline)
- Gwyneth (Top Backline)
This burst team is also incredibly powerful for the late/end game campaign and the rest of PvE.
Unlike the god comp strategy, which relies on stalling the enemy and sustaining throughout a battle, the burst comp here aims to quickly burst down the enemy team.
Therefore, you see a lot of incredible burst heroes on this team like Eironn and Lorsan.
Furthermore, this team works well as the heroes complement each others’ active abilities. Both Eironn, Gwyneth, and Lyca can push or pool enemies close together, allowing all heroes on the team to deal more damage, as they all have AoE skills.
This team composition is also used often with Zaphrael instead of Gwyneth.
Team 3
- Elijah & Lailah (Top Frontline)
- Rowan (Bottom Frontline)
- Saurus (Bottom Backline)
- Tasi (Middle Backline)
- Lyca (Top Backline)
This entire late/end game team revolves around Saurus and getting him stacked up.
That’s the reason why this team has three support heroes – to help sustain Saurus, boosting him, and allowing him to get stacks so he can deal a ton of damage.
Lyca also deals a decent amount of damage as well as brings some useful buffs and defense reduction, but Saurus is the star of this team.
Best teams for PvP
Here are the best team for PvP in AFK Arena.
Team 1
- Elijah & Lailah (Top Frontline)
- Albedo (Bottom Frontline)
- Ainz Ooal Gown (Bottom Backline)
- Rowan (Middle Backline)
- Ezizh (Top Backline)
This late/end game PvP team is a variation of the powerful god comp that you see in PvE a lot.
What’s different in this setup is that a lot of the healing and crowd control has been replaced with damage in the form of Ainz Ooal Gown, one of the most powerful damage dealers in AFK Arena and Albedo.
Having Albedo on the team will further sustain Ainz as her shield prioritizes Ainz if he is on the field, making him the star of this team comp.
This PvP team is a great mixture of high damage output and crowd control/sustain.
Team 2
- Arthur (Top Frontline)
- Talene (Bottom Frontline)
- Ainz Ooal Gown (Bottom Backline)
- Mortas (Middle Backline)
- Albedo (Top Backline)
This late/end game PvP team also revolves around Ainz, which most late/end game PvP teams do.
The strategy of this team is to keep Mortas alive for long enough to use his buff, so Ainz’s damage output is heavily boosted.
For the rest of the match, the objective is to keep Ainz alive and support him with shields, healing, and damage negation.
Team 3
- Alna (Top Frontline)
- Ferael (Bottom Frontline)
- Lucretia (Bottom Backline)
- Silas (Middle Backline)
- Athalia (Top Backline)
This is a more balanced PvP team for late/end game, whose driving point is Athalia taking out enemy backline heroes.
Meanwhile, the rest of the team dishes out various support, including Alna’s haste boost and Silas’ healing.
Lucretia’s damage over time slowly deteriorates enemies while Ferael keeps enemies in check with lots of crowd control.
Overall a solid, well-balanced PvP team without any Dimensional heroes, so you can build it even if you don’t have Ainz Ooal Gown and Albedo.
Best teams for Guild Hunt
Here are the best teams for the bosses in the Guild Hunt in AFK Arena.
Team 1
- Belinda (Top Frontline)
- Saurus (Bottom Frontline)
- Elijah & Lailah (Bottom Backline)
- Rosaline (Middle Backline)
- Lorsan (Top Backline)
This Guild Hunt team is one of the strongest you can build in the game.
It revolves around Saurus, Belinda, and Rosaline dishing out the vast majority of the damage with support from Elijah & Lailah, and Rosaline.
Lorsan will also deal a great amount of damage but not as much as Belinda, Rosaline, and Saurus.
To make this team as effective as it can be, you need to have Belinda’s furniture that boosts the damage of her Divine Light skill by 30%.
Team 2
- Saurus (Top Frontline)
- Rosaline (Bottom Frontline)
- Elijah & Lailah (Bottom Backline)
- Mortas (Middle Backline)
- Raine (Top Backline)
This is another extremely powerful team for Guild Hunt, which is on par with the previous one.
It is similar to the previous team in that Saurus will be the main source of damage with the help of Rosaline while getting support from Elijah & Lailah.
In this team, however, the two damage dealers have been replaced by Mortas and Raine, who both give incredible buffs that boost Saurus’ and Rosaline’s damage output.
Best teams for Twisted Realm
Here are the best teams for the Twisted Realm in AFK Arena.
Team 1
- Saurus (Top Frontline)
- Grezhul (Bottom Frontline)
- Mehira (Bottom Backline)
- Daimon (Middle Backline)
- Elijah & Lailah (Top Backline)
This Twisted Realm is very effective against several of the bosses in the Twisted Realm, especially The Unhinged, Ice Shemeria, and Burning Brute.
Saurus will be the main source of damage on this team with the support of Elijah & Lailah as well as Mehira, while Grezhul and Daimon provide great utility, tankiness, and control.
Team 2
- Saurus (Top Frontline)
- Cecilia (Bottom Frontline)
- Elijah & Lailah (Bottom Backline)
- Warek (Middle Backline)
- Ezizh (Top Backline)
This Twisted Realm team composition is one that’s become popular among top players, even though you probably wouldn’t think of it yourself.
The core of this team is Saurus and Cecilia, with support from Elijah & Lailah.
What makes this team so special is the Warek pick, a hero not often used except for some bosses.
Specifically, it’s his skill Bonebreaker, which reduces the enemy’s defense rating, and later on, greatly reduces the enemy’s defense rating while also stunning them.
This defense reduction greatly increases the damage your heroes deal to the enemy, making it essentially a damage buff for your team.
Lastly, Ezizh is useful here because of his silence, which is almost essential to have against some bosses because of their powerful skills.
Best teams for Abyssal Expedition
Here are the best teams for the Abyssal Expedition in AFK Arena.
For the general battles against normal heroes, just use a team that is strong in PvE, like the ones shown earlier in this guide.
The following teams are for the bosses in the Abyssal Expedition.
Team 1
- Eironn (Top Frontline)
- Cecilia (Bottom Frontline)
- Elijah & Lailah (Bottom Backline)
- Rowan (Middle Backline)
- Lyca (Top Backline)
In this team, the core is Eironn and Cecilia, who brings a bunch of damage, while Elijah & Lailah, and Rowan spam energy regeneration.
Lyca will also deal a decent amount of damage but comes in handy with her utility, including buffing and lowering of the enemy’s defense.
This composition is an overall solid team against bosses in the Abyssal Expedition.
Team 2
- Saurus (Top Frontline)
- Eironn (Bottom Frontline)
- Warek (Bottom Backline)
- Elijah & Lailah (Middle Backline)
- Cecilia (Top Backline)
Another powerful team for the Abyssal Expedition is this, which uses Warek for his indirect damage buff for your team, as he greatly reduces the defense of the enemy.
In this team, we have even more damage by having both Saurus, Eironn, and Cecilia.
The last hero on the team is Elijah & Lailah, who is always a great pick because of their incredible support and energy regeneration boost.
Team building factors
When building a team in AFK Arena, there are several factors that affect how well that team will perform in the game.
Furthermore, a team that performs well in the campaign in the end game might not do as well in the Guild Hunt.
Therefore, most players build several teams later on in the game to optimize their gameplay for each part of the game.
Nonetheless, there are some overall factors that you should consider when building any team in the game.
These are the factors that affect how your team performs in AFK Arena:
- Individual power of heroes
- Faction advantages
- Balance of roles
- Synergy between heroes
It is important to consider these factors when building your team, but unlike some other RPG hero-collector mobile games, the individual power of heroes has a lot of influence on your team’s power in AFK Arena.
This doesn’t mean you can simply bring five top-tier attacker heroes.
But, in most cases, it will not be worth it to sacrifice having a top-tier hero like Rowan, Daimon, or Ainz on your team, just so you can reach a better balance of factions, etc.
Here is a short rundown of what the different factors are and how they affect your team’s power.
Individual power of heroes
The individual power of heroes in AFK Arena is a very important factor when choosing who to bring on your team.
You can easily find the individual power of a hero, how good they are, in each category of the game in our AFK Arena Tier List.
A hero’s individual power or potential is not determined purely by their damage out, but rather how well they perform in a specific part of the game.
For example, Rowan, who is one of the best heroes in AFK Arena, doesn’t have a great damage output himself, but his supportive abilities are so powerful and useful that he is S+ tier in every single category of the game.
In other words, Rowan increases your team’s chance of beating levels by so much that he deserves the title of being S+.
Other heroes that are among the best in the game include:
- Elijah & Lailah
- Talene
- Ainz Ooal Gown
- Daimon
- Eironn
When you are looking to fill a specific role or position on your team, we highly recommend you look for top-tier heroes that meet or are close to meeting the factors you are looking for, as this will most often result in the best team.
Faction advantages
In AFK Arena, all heroes belong to one of seven factions:
- Lightbearers
- Maulers
- Wilders
- Graveborns
- Celestials
- Hypogeans
- Dimensionals
The faction advantages system in AFK Arena has two buffs.
One is purely based on what factions fight each other while the second is dependent on the composition of factions on your team.
The first part of the faction advantages system makes most factions deal 25% extra damage to another faction while taking extra damage from a third faction.
There are also special factions that deal and take 25% extra damage from the same faction, while one doesn’t deal extra nor takes extra damage from any faction.
Here is a rundown of how each faction is affected by the faction advantage system.
- Lightbearers deal 25% extra damage to Maulers and take 25% extra damage from Graveborns.
- Maulers deal 25% extra damage to Wilders and take 25% extra damage from Lightbearers.
- Wilders deal 25% extra damage to Gravesborns and take 25% extra damage from Maulers.
- Graveborns deal 25% extra damage to Lightbearers and take 25% extra damage from Wilders.
- Celestials deal 25% extra damage to Hypogeans and take 25% extra damage from Hypogeans as well.
- Hypogeans deal 25% extra damage to Celestials and take 25% extra damage from Celestials as well.
- Dimensionals are unaffected by factions, which means that they don’t deal extra damage to any faction nor take extra damage from any faction.
The damage buff heroes get from this can be a deciding factor in battle, especially if you have a lot of heroes of, for example, the Lightbearers faction, and you face a team full of Graveborns.
Therefore, you should keep in mind the composition of factions on your team as well as on your enemies’ when creating your team.
We have observed some players having success with having a lot of heroes of the same faction, but it does come with an increased risk, of course.
The second part of the faction advantages system is the faction team buff.
If the number of heroes of the same faction on your team meets certain criteria, every single hero on your team gets a buff.
Here you can see the different compositions you need to unlock each buff.
- 3 Heroes of the same faction on your team gives +10% ATK and +10% HP.
- 3 Heroes of the same faction and 2 heroes of another faction on your team gives +15% ATK and +15% HP.
- 4 Heroes of the same faction on your team gives +15% ATK and +20% HP.
- 5 Heroes of the same faction on your team gives +25% ATK and +25% HP.
- Celestial heroes can count as either Graveborn, Lightbearer, Wilder, or Mauler.
- Hypogean heroes don’t affect the above-listed compositions. Instead they give buffs dependent on the number of Hypogeans on the team. (1+ = +30% Defense, 2+ = +25% Energy recovered when injured, 3+ = +15% Crit Rating, 4+ = +30% Critical Strike Damage, 5+ = +15 Haste)
As you can tell, you can get your team a quite useful buff by meeting the requirements of the buffs listed above.
However, as mentioned, in most cases, it’s not worth it to go for an extreme faction buff at the sacrifice of a top-tier hero.

Balance of roles
Considering the different roles of heroes is also important when building your team in AFK Arena.
There are three overall classes that players refer to:
- Attackers
- Tanks
- Support
The actual roles or classes of heroes in the game are:
- Tanks
- Warriors
- Rangers
- Support
- Mage
Rangers, Mages, and most Warriors are considered attackers, Support heroes support, and Tanks, of course, tanks.
You should make sure your team has a balance of the three overall roles, as a team consisting solely of support heroes will have a lot of utility but not enough damage output to ever take out most teams.
We’ve found that most top players use one support hero at the middle position on the backline, one tank hero on the frontline on any position, and then attacker heroes for the remaining three spots.
This is, of course, a very large generalization, as we’ve also observed a lot of amazing and successful teams utilizing more support heroes, no tank, etc.
Synergy between heroes
With so many unique heroes in the game, it’s no wonder that many interesting and powerful synergies between heroes have arisen.
Synergy is when two or more heroes on your team complement each other resulting in a powerful combo or a higher damage output.
To give you an idea of what these synergies can look like in the game, we’ve gathered some examples:
- Eironn using his active skill to pull enemies into Safiya’s barrier to reduce enemies’ haste and attack while increasing your own heroes’ attack.
- A hero like Hendrik to push enemy frontline heroes to the enemy backline for Gwyneth to also hit them with her backline-arrow attack.
- Ezizh using his skill Horrify to silence enemies from using their active skill with the help of energy-regening heroes like Elijah & Lailah, and Rowan.
- Life leeching heroes paired with Khasos, who boosts the life leeched by allies.
There are many other synergies in the game for you to explore.
If you choose to use a specific hero combo/synergy on your team, we recommend you build your team around that and not just plug it into an already existing team.
Many top players of AFK Arena try to find synergies in the game to counter specific popular team setups in the end game, showing how useful they can be.
Early and mid game team building
Unlike what you might expect, the most effective and most commonly used team-building strategy early game is to focus on one hero on your team.
This one hero that you’ll be focusing on will be the carry of your team and will deal almost all damage in battles throughout the early and mid game.
The rest of the heroes on your team are not unimportant but should be more focused on support, boosting, or helping your carry hero rather than being a carry themselves.
Though it might seem strange, it is no problem that you have a hero or two on your team early game that doesn’t do much in terms of damage or support.
You can easily and will have the easiest time progressing in the early and mid game by primarily focusing on one carry hero.
As you’ll be putting so much focus on only one hero, we strongly recommend choosing one that is extremely powerful early game and is thereby suitable to act as the carry.
Some of the best heroes to choose as the carry early and mid are the following:
- Saveas
- Shemira
- Saurus
- Brutus
- Daimon
- Athalia
Other heroes we’ve found are great carries early game include Wu Kong, Ainz, and Vedan.
You can find more heroes for the early and mid game in our AFK Arena Tier Lists.
So does focusing on a carry hero mean you shouldn’t level up your other heroes on your team? No, you should also level up those.
However, contrary to what most people would intuitively do, your carry hero should be fed most of your resources, and it’s no problem with them being 30 or more levels above the rest of your heroes.
Having a carry hero with self-healing abilities will make your time progressing through the early and mid game even easier.
It is not a requirement for carry heroes, though, in which case you would greatly benefit from having a support hero or two on your team with healing abilities.
Late and end game team building
As you reach the late and end game in AFK Arena, you can no longer rely on a single carry hero when building a team.
Because enemies become so strong in terms of power points compared to you, the farther into the game you progress, you have to have a very strong and optimized team to keep progressing.
For this to happen, you need to have a team consisting of top-tier heroes that complement each over well in terms of synergy and balance of roles, factions, etc.
Therefore, we recommend that you go about building your team for the end game in the following way.
Find two or more top-tier heroes of the game that synergies well with each other and that can act as the core of your team’s strategy.
Then, find other top-tier or close to top-tier heroes to add to the team depending on its current needs or shortcomings.
This part can be difficult and will require experimentation, which you can do by trying different setups.
Features such as the Resonating Crystal can help you try different heroes on your team without spending a ton of resources.
Some of the popular heroes and synergies you’ll often see people use late game include:
- Burst comp with Eirron and Lorsan
- God comps with Rowan, Elijah & Lailah, and Ezizh
- Setup for Saurus or Ainz comp
When you find a strong team composition that works, you might at one point experience that it stops being as effective, especially in PvP, and that is because the meta evolves.
In the end game, many teams are similar in composition and use a lot of the same heroes, which causes players to constantly look for counters to popular setups.
Therefore, you should expect other players to try to find weaknesses in your team, forcing you to continuously try to optimize and prepare for a new meta and new team compositions in AFK Arena.
That’s our take on a guide on the best teams in AFK Arena as well as how to build your team!
If you have any input for this guide, let us know in the comment section below.
It is time to put the icing on the cake in this blog as far as AFK Arena is concerned. Signature Items, Artifact, Furniture, and Hero Tier Lists are essential. But the true nature and challenge of AFK Arena is the strategic part. Putting together a team that can handle most other formations or counters a specific formation makes a player excellent.
In this guide, I will show you some of the best AFK Arena teams, team comps, or whatever you want to call them. First of all, I want to say that most of the credit for this guide goes first and foremost to the unknown players that throw a ton of money and time into this game and come up with incredible formations.
And now, let me show you a complete analysis of what works in AFK Arena and why.
In this guide, you will see several PvE core formations. You can also check my Faction Towers meta teams and guides for Guild Hunting and Twisted Realm team comps! For individual characters, you can check our AFK Arena tier list.
Let’s go!
Note: Some teams are highly RNG-reliant, but what did you expect at end-game?
Best Campaign Teams [Chapter 35-40]
I think this is the most important part of this guide. Once you are required to win 5-team battles in AFK Arena things get really slow. Currently, I’m at stage 39:56 and there is a recurring theme of people using the same 5 teams to win at high deficits. So I believe it’s worth showing all 5 of them as they are variations of the teams I analyze in detail below.
Cyberfunk
People usually use the same order for these teams in fights.
- The first team relies on Mehira (M SI+30) and Khazard or Daimon (SI +30). Skriath (SI +30, 3/9F) can be a good substitute for Khazard on occasion. Lyca (SI +20, 3/9F) is here for the Haste, Rowan (SI +30) to speed up Ultimates, and Rosaline (SI +20) follows Mehira.
- The second team is very annoying as it is a variation of Thoran Cheese. This works much better in high-level deficits and from what I’ve seen, if your Thoran is too strong, you have a harder time with RNG. I’ve also seen people use Hendrik at the frontline instead of Merlin at the back, Nara, or even Athalia. It’s the type of team you put on auto-battle and go to sleep, hoping the stage will be cleared once you wake up.
- For the third team, we have standard Ainz comp. Ainz, Albedo, and another Dimensional to fully trigger Albedo’s SI +30 will do.
- For the fourth team, we have a variation of Lucretia Cheese. The other four heroes don’t matter much; they just ensure that Lucretia lives long enough, and they die. Boom!
- For the fifth team, we have what I call Alna’s Frozen Mist. These teams work extremely well as counters to Lyca. Lyca’s presence on an opposing team at these deficits usually means that you will be obliterated without a team comp like this. Grezhul, Alna, Ferael, Silas, and Oden is the ultimate form of the Alna’s Frozen Mist formation.
These 5 teams will get you far in the game, so all the guides (e.g., Signature Item and Furniture priorities) on BORDERPOLAR have these 5 in mind as an end result.
For example, I first used the standard Ainz Comp to progress through the campaign. Once I reached two-team battles, I added Lucretia Cheese. Then, when I reached three-team battles, I added Alna’s Frozen Mist. Then, Thoran’s Cheese and I’m working to optimize the first team with Mehira and Khazard/Daimon/Skriath.
In hindsight, I should have saved Thoran Cheese for last as it is very annoying. At the same time, I was too slow in my investing in Khazard and Mehira, as I spend too many resources on Thalene, Ezizh, and Athalia instead.
Also ,these teams lay some foundations for the best faction tower teams as Rowan and Rosaline are core members of the best teams for the Tower of Light, Skriath and Brutus are must-haves in Brutal Citadel, and Lyca and Eironn are also must-haves in the World Tree, with Lorsann being useful in the second team, and of course, all these Graveborns form a devastating team for the Forsaken Necropolis.
Lucretia will pretty much carry you in Infernal Fortress, while the Celestial Sanctum is just a huge mess if you don’t have a proper DPS (I don’t, so I decided to work on Audrae, but this will take a while so I’m stuck at floor 300).
Best PvP Teams & Formations (HoE, AoH, LCT)
I’m starting out with PvP team recommendations to get it out of the way. The current non-whale meta revolves around three teams: Ainz Comp, Alna’s Frozen Mist, and Lucretia’s Energy Cycle/Disruptor team.
Ainz Comp
I will detail Ainz Comp later on in the PvE formations, but essentially this is the team to use in Arena of Heroes and it will be your strongest team in Legends’ Challenger Tournament and Heroes of Esperia. Pretty much a guaranteed win against most team comps. The second formation is for Ainz Comp vs. Ainz Comp battles and it works quite well.

Alna’s Frozen Mist
Nobody likes recommending, SI + 30, 9/9F teams, but this is pretty much you are going to need here. Personally I use the first formation and all my heroes are E30+. The point of the whole formation is that Grezhul’s anti-magic shield combined with Oden’s Energy Drain and Ferael’s stuns can really slow down Ainz and even soak most of his damage(!). Desira’s Hatred’s Mark skill in the second formation can make this a good Lucretia counter at 9/9 Furniture, as you have a solid chance of taking her out before she goes berserk.
I have tried to make this team work with Izold instead of Grezhul, but it requires a lot of luck and great timing since Alna’s immunity actually harms Izold on most occasions.

Lucretia’s Energy Cycle & Disruptor
I would say this is the evolution of God Comp. Lucy is great by herself and becomes the second-best hero in the game (or maybe the first) when her teammates die. This formation relies on the Twins providing haste at least ones and then Lucretia and Ezizh surviving long enough to Ult-block the opponents.
With full investment it can wreck both Ainz Comps and Alna’s Comps. That’s because it won’t let Ainz use his Ultimate, and Alna’s stall team will kill everyone but Lucretia who can go 1v5 here.
Without full investment Ainz Comps one-shot the whole team at some point as Lucretia can’t break through Arthur without the buffs.

One of the godliest team comps in AFK Arena and by far the most annoying one. In my case this formation never works well, and it comes down to having a way to overpowered Thoran that does not take enough damage to one shot enemies. This is essentially a formation where you will have to remove gear from Thoran on occasion. I somewhat regret investing in this formation, but it works for so many people to the point where I can un-recommend it. I use an SI +30, 9/9F Thoran (E30), and still have to wait an eternity for RNG to kick in. Nevetheless, this is a formation that can you fights you would never win otherwise.
Strategy
It relies on Thoran’s Signature Item at +30, which will allow him to survive the first two times he uses his Ultimate, Retaliation. During Retaliation’s duration, Thoran will focus for a few moments while receiving less damage. Due to this Ultimate, he cannot die during that time, he goes down, and then he comes back up. At the same time, when his focus state is complete, he will return 200% of the damage to enemies in his melee range and recover 40% of the damage dealt as HP. There are two challenges here:
- First, you need to gather all enemies around Thoran to receive a ton of damage during his focusing state. The enemies must remain close to Thoran when he finally swings his ax to see the full effect of this team.
- Second, Graveborns are generally very slow at energy generation. You want Thoran to enter his focusing state (aka cast his Ultimate) ASAP.
The solution to the first challenge is field manipulation which means that heroes like Eironn, Nara, and Skriath that can pull enemies, are great in this team.
The solution to the second challenge is Lyca’s Haste or Rowan’s excellent SI +30.
Ferael, Eironn, and Rowan will also provide the necessary stuns and freezes to keep the enemies close to Thoran as they are pulled in.

I love this team comp just because it features the hottest and sexiest AFK Arena hero (right?). And the way this team works is so Lucretia-like.
The great thing about Lucretia Cheese is that she is the only hero that matters. Getting her to at least SI +20 and ideally SI +30 and 9/9F is what you need. So the best part about this team is full-blown versatility.
Just add four heroes that work well against the enemy team comp and wait for them to die and buff Lucretia. I decided to go with SI +30 and 9/9F, a strong requirement because only then will you see the full effect of Lucretia Cheese.
What you need here is Lucretia to survive long enough. I’ve used this team with four level 1 heroes to in the Hypogean Faction Tower, and it can pretty much clear any floor easily until your reach the team power threshold and can’t fight anymore. In Campaign this team wrecks even at a 240-level defiit and 5x power gap. LOL.
The second tank is a stall, and Alna is ideal here as at 9/9F, she can provide immunity to Lucretia, pretty much guaranteeing a win. However, this is not a great formation for the game’s Campaign as you are going to need Alna for the next team comp (Alna’s Frozen Mist). It works tremendously well on King’s Tower though, especially on floors that Ainz won’t cut it.
The backline relies on sucking enemies in, debuffing them, and CC, but the point is that Eironn goes full suicidal here, and the back three heroes will go down fast. That will give Lucretia 450 Energy/s for the next 5 seconds, 24 Haste points for 20 seconds and a 150% increased attack rating for 20 seconds.
At the same time, her 9/9F ability will prevent enemies from using their Ultimates temporarily.
One woman team!

The first two formations rely on Ferael and Eironn, respectively, for damage, but the general idea is to throw your enemies into sleep in a frozen, misty Sandstorm of sorts. To improve the odds against a high-level deficit, you can throw in a Daimon.
Also, maxing out the characters in the second formation, especially Orthros will result in your enemies doing nothing. That formation is probably my favorite in the game, but it is made for whales. I don’t know if anyone uses it as I studied Alna formations by myself, but I hope I will have it at my disposal one day.
Wait for Ainz aka Standard Ainz Comp (Campaign, King’s Tower)
The main challenge is getting Alna and Desira maxed out to watch this team at full advantage.

I like playing with stall formations that outlast enemy formations and win in the last seconds of a battle. Stall Team building is strategic team composition at its best. Here is a formation that I love.
Wait for Ainz is a top-rated team comp for those who own Ainz and Albedo. It is known as the Ainz Comp, but since I was simultaneously exploring this team comp by myself, I call it “Wait for Ainz.” This team requires a ridiculous investment on Ainz and Albedo, along with getting Arthur from the Arcane Labyrinth store. The other requirements are Rowan at SI +30 and Lyca at SI +20. But when you reap the rewards of this team, well… it’s mindblowing.
The main challenge for this team is that it can work for level deficits up to 200. So you need Albedo at +30 to buff Dimensional heroes with a +45% Attack Rating and +75% Defense Rating.
Arthur is necessary because he will guard Ainz and Lyca. He is insanely tanky. Lyca and Rowan are batteries for Ainz.
I do not recommend playing this team on Auto when you reach end-game. Ainz’s Ultimate, even at SI +30, is not strong enough anymore, so here is how the fights go on Auto. Ainz ults at around 1:22 and then at 1:15 “The Goal of Life is Death” are triggered, evaporating the enemies’ 50% current health. In the next 4 seconds, your team is wiped out.
When you disable Auto, you will use every ultimate except for Ainz’s before 1:15 and wait for ‘The Goal of All Life is Death to be triggered”. After that, you ultimate with Ainz, hoping that Ult will wipe at least three enemies.
You can keep Arthur, Ainz, and Albedo on the team at lower-level deficit multi-stage battles and throw in two fodder characters to save better ones for the following stages.
Finally, it’s worth mentioning the existence of Eironn in the second variation of the Ainz comp. Notice that I have positioned Eironn at the opposite flank of Ainz.
I sometimes use this variation to pull opponents away from Ainz and allow Albedo, who is in front of Eironn, to survive a few more seconds, which can be crucial.
Finally, Talene is an ultimate staller at any Ascension level.

This team leaves and dies with a stall. Will you be able to pull anyone away from Daimon to allow him to kill one or two enemies, buff himself and destroy the remaining ones? If you can do that, you win.
Rowan, Brutus, Talane, and Arthur are excellent frontline options here. The backline should be stall and/or haste oriented, too, so Ferael, Nara, Tasi, Lyca, and Eironn (once again opposite of Daimon) thrive in this team comp.
Put Daimon behind Brutus or Arthur to protect him and in the case of Arthur buff him.

Three out of 5 characters are part of the Wilder Meta team in Faction Tower – The World Tree. That team can work in the campaign, too, if Saurus can tank his side well enough, which is questionable.
This team composition is easy to build, but it has many requirements for Tasi and Eironn to survive. Overall this is a mix of high DPS and stalling. Disruptive heroes like Oden and Nara can work too, and talent at the frontline with Rowan and Tasi at the backline.
I highly recommend having a 3/9F Tasi so that she can teleport out of danger. You are going to rely on her putting enemies to sleep to win.

The Synergy in Disrupt and Stall compositions can get you very far in AFK Arena, along with making you a much better player. Please study these teams and understand their potential, figure out new variations. Trust me; these are pure gold.
Talene is the ultimate staller in AFK Arena, she works even without her SI, but at SI +30, she becomes insane.
Flora needs SI+20 whenever she is present in these formations. Also, if you can ever get Orthros to SI +30, 9/9F, you are going to have the most annoyingly disruptive power in the game.
There is not much more to explain here. Any character that stuns, freezes, pulls enemies, and manipulates enemies will work, as Flora can deal massive damage if built properly. Eventually, Talene will be so strong that she will take over. That’s exactly what makes Talene teams broken, even if there are better heroes in AFK Arena nowadays.

Izold is a powerhouse at SI +30 and 9/9 Furniture. This is the main requirement for this team, but I highly recommend Alna or Brutus next to him at the frontline. Silas is really vital to the backline, as he is supposed to buff Izold, who will be losing the most health here.
I don’t think Talene works in this formation as she may end up stealing Silas’ buffs. That being said, this is a between Scylla and Charybdis situation as the enemies will either be overwhelmed by Izold or Talene.
The other two backline heroes should be highly disruptive forces or battery chargers like Rowan. Nara, Ezizh, Lyca, Tasi, Oden, Fawkes, and Nemora work really well here.

Skreg Invade relies on moving as many heroes as possible to the enemy half of the battlefield and activating his furniture abilities. Consequently, several heroes can work at the backline, such as Cecilia, Athalia (even though she sucks, in my opinion):
- [3/9 Mythic Pieces] All allied heroes with the enemy half of the battlefield have their Attack Ratings increased by 20% and also receive 25% less damage from enemy attacks.
- [9/9 Mythic Pieces] Allied heroes recover 100 energy points after every 3 seconds in the enemy’s half of the battlefield.
This team is delightful and the exact opposite of stall teams, so it needs heroes with self-healing abilities for the most part and a lot of field manipulation to avoid damage. Numisu is a good healer, and his totems taunt enemies, but you can also use Nemora or Lorsan.

An obvious but funny team composition with the Twins and Rowan producing a ton of Ultimates to activate Ezizh’s Horrify passive effect:
Prevents enemies from using ultimate abilities for 2 seconds every time one of Ezizh’s teammates uses an ultimate ability.
At the same time, Mehira’s Ultimate Mesmerize will entrance enemies
Mehira entrances enemy heroes, causing them to attack each other with their regular attacks for 5 seconds. While entranced, enemies will not recover energy while attacked.
Of course, during all this, Talene will keep getting stronger. This can quickly turn to a stall team comp if you add Tasi and remove Mehira. Ferael can substitute Ezizh, while you can also try Saurus instead of Ezizh and outheal the damage until Mehira breaks the enemies down.
At 100+ level deficits, you will have a hard time keeping the Twins, especially Rowan, alive for more than a few seconds.

What. A. Beauty. Hats off to the person that figured out this formation. A mage and Lyca at the front… Well, any team without a tank must have insane synergy, and this one does.
Once again, this team revolves around pulling and positioning enemies with Eironn and Skriath while debuffing them with Safiya. Your Lyca will probably die, but not before applying Haste to the rest of your heroes, and from then on, it’s a CC race to victory.
Skriath is equally valuable to Eironn in this formation and time is of the essence here, so Safiya’s 9/9 furniture skill.
Don’t Pull Out! (Mid Campaign)
That’s what she (and the opponents) said. This is a team that I have come up with as an upgrade to the Five Pull team. It relies on Morael’s Cosmic field and Eironn and Skriath, who have the skill sets to pull enemies out of it, causing them to take heavy damage.
The core heroes are Morael, Skriath, and Eironn, and you can add Alna and Lyca to it. A cheaper alternative would be to use Skriath and Tasi at the front, and with Eironn, Morael, and Joker at this much CC, Joker can deal massive damage, but you sacrifice survivability.
If built correctly, this is another excellent stall team.

Old but gold since all heroes are easily acquirable. Gwyneth must be at SI+25 for the stat bonus she gets. Arthur at SI +30 will allow Gwyneth to survive longer. I wouldn’t call this an end-game team, but it’s easy to form, and it will work very well up to Chapter 30.

This team revolves around the fact that Khazard has one of the most ridiculous Signature Items in the game at level 30, along with incredible furniture skills. Freeze enemies and CC them, and Saurus will destroy them. One of the best teams in AFK Arena, but getting Khazard to Ascended Tier is unrealistic for most players.

AFK Arena
AFK Arena.

- These Formations are mostly based on what works, is existing popular and tried & tested. As such, it is possible that certain rising lineups may be absent or under-represented. Lastly, AFK Arena formations are built around win conditions, typically strong individual heroes and thus we will group our formations accordingly with that in mind.

- Due to Khazard’s +30, they can delay until Tasi sleep, followed by Pippa sleep, Gorvo stuns. CC chain begins.
- Khazard ults, adding more debuffs while Saurus ramps up damage over time. CC chain repeats. Never-ending slumber.

This is currently (patch 1.56) one of the best AFK Arena teams with the highest level/power deficits.
This team can beat such enemies with huge power difference is due to the Pippa + Tasi combo (cannot work without this), being coupled with Khazard SI +30. Check the highlights here.
Do note that this team is weak against tanky comps or CC immune teams.
The Speedy Lizard
By ImMrBlueBoy
Front-line | Back-line | |||
Level Deficit: 90-100 (Pre-chapter 31)
Substitutions:
Synergies:
- Twins often ultimate first, giving haste + CC immunity to the team.
- Followed by Tasi’s ultimate, stalling for Saurus to ramp up.
- Saurus ults (ramping up damage) while Rowan ults and stars the energy cycle with Twins.
Why you should use this comp:
- Strong mid to late game comp (min power).
- Most people invested in SI3o Saurus hence using him for PVE is additional bonus.
- Great for multi-stages since enemy’s lineup can be chosen to favour Saurus comp.
- Strong against defensive/slow pace lineups. Great counter to the annoying Tasi!
Signature Item Priority
Rowan +30 → Saurus +30 → Twins +20 → Tasi +15 → Lyca +10
Winning condition is preferably Twins to quickly ult first so that she can bring haste and CC immunity for the team, esp Saurus whose main weakness is CC.
Gears and Artifact Priority
Lack of gears/artifacts can occur during multi-stages, Skiath and Lyca only need mythic gears with no artifact. Even Safiya can do without if Eironn and Tidus have good gears. If survivability is not an issue, Dura’s Eye is great here.
Furniture
No furniture is required, except Twins furniture which boosts their survivabilty by a lot.
However, it’s great to have furniture on these meta heroes (*helps to get past min power requirement too).
Artifact Priority
Twins equip Call to ensure the first ult most of the time (grab Rowan’s blue potion).
You can use dual Call, equipping another onto Tasi but I find that it’s better to equip it only onto Twins since once they ult, the entire team will get enough haste to carry on the flow.
Tips:
- Requires player to have good positioning skill. Place Saurus away from the main threat’ damage dealer so that he can ramp up before dying.
- +30 Saurus is not exactly needed but makes the comp much more reliable. I used +10 for awhile at 90-100 level deficits (pre chapt 31) with not much issue.
- Winning conditions: Twins ult > Tasi’s sleep > Rowan’s energy cycle. Allows Saurus to walk around and hit freely without getting CCed.
- Gorvo works very well here, his opening stun is a crucial stall for the first Twins ult.
- Saurus &Twins are the core. But if you insist, Twins “can” be subbed with Rosaline or Ferael. The subs can cause enemies to turn the tide on you due to lack in immunity.
- If possible, place Saurus furthest away from Rowan (e.g. Rowan pos 1, Saurus pos 5). This prevents Saurus from snatching the blue potion + while Rowan stuns one side of the (3) enemies, Saurus solo chain stunning another that is out of Rowan’s coin reach. Allowing 4 enemies to be almost perma stunned (not forgetting Tasi/Ferael CC).
Green Sand Wolf
By ImMrBlueBoy
Front-line | Back-line | |||
Level Deficit: 90-100 (Pre-chapter 31)
Substitutions:
Synergies:
- 3/9 Furniture Skriath pulls enemy backline towards middle.
- Eironn’s 5-men vortex pull.
- Tidus turn back for 5-men fear.
Why you should use this comp:
- It’s great for multi-stage (Up until 152 level deficit).
- Free up important heroes like Tasi, Lyca, Rowan, etc.
- Very consistent against non-magic teams.
- 2 winning conditions: Eironn as main carry & Tidus as backup carry.
Signature Item Priority
Eiron +30 → Lyca +20 → Tidus +20 → Safiya +10 → Skriath +10
Safiya works as support her using her opening cover and mini stuns. Fight mostly ends without using her Ultimate. Average fight duration: 15 secs.
Furniture
- Skriath 3/9 = must-have for this comp. Otherwise Eironn cannot vortex 5 men.
- Eironn 3/9 gives more damage.
- Tidus 3/9 gives more survivability and cleanup power.
- Lyca 3/9 gives early burst.
- Safiya’s furniture is not required.
Enemies to avoid:
Teams with 4-5 magic heroes because magic can’t be dodged. Eironn and Tidus will suffer.
Tips:
- Tidus placed backline when facing magic attacks.
- Eironn equips Call for much better flow.
- Anoki with Barricade allows 4+1 faction bonus while releasing Lyca.
- Ezio sub vs Brutus/Maulers, Nako for 5 men juggling plays.
- Vurk sub vs diving (Athalia) comps, Safiya can be placed frontline.
- Pretty decent for PvP but nowhere near meta PvP comps.
- For Maulers, SI +30 Tidus >= Skriath > Safiya.
Rosaline-Rowan Energy Team
By ImMrBlueBoy
Front-line | Back-line | |||
Level Deficit: 90-100 (Pre-chapter 31)
Substitutions:
Synergies:
- Tasi often ulti first from blue potion (6-8 secs into game).
- Followed up by Rowan’s ultimate giving Rosaline energy.
- Rosaline ults, giving Rowan full Energy to ultimate again. The energy cycle repeats.
Why you should use this comp:
- Easy transition from early to mid game while building other core meta heroes.
- Good for F2P/Low spenders transitioning from Shemira/Belinda comp.
- Great against most lineup due to the heroes high survivability mechanisms + perma CC. Enemies just can’t move!
Cons of this comp
- Not suitable for multi-stages campaign due to important heroes like Rosaline used in Gwyneth comp unless other comps are built instead.
- Harder to position heroes comparing to meta comps, need to understand hero mechanisms beter.
Signature Item Priority
Rowan +30 → Rosaline +20 → Tasi +15 → Ferael +20 → Lyca +20
Tasi +15 for the extra Haste stat is important so that she can ult first 90% of the time. However, Rosaline +20 first because she is boss meta.
Gears and Artifact Priority
Everyone requires T2 gears, however, helmet upgrade should be skipped first if lack of resources.
Tasi & Rowan require faction-specific boots (extra haste), others don’t matter.
Lyca and Ferael equip Dura’s Blade if lacking damage.
Furniture
Furniture is not a must but great to have on the meta heroes.
Tasi 3/9 definitely increases consistency since she is often placed frontline.
Enemies to avoid:
Tasi, Ezizh, Skreg.
Tips:
- Requires player to have good positioning skill. For e.g. Making use of Rosaline opening walk, Lyca’s pullback, Ferael/Tasi position change, etc to allow more enemies to come near Rowan’s coins (ensure perma stun).
- Place Rowan opposite enemy’s main threat. There may be a short delay between energy chain but that can be covered by Ferael’s fear and Tasi’s sleep.
- Pippa the new Wilder hew, could probably do very well in this comp.
- Oscar/Rigby performs decently but requires more investment (+30 3/9).
- Make use of what you have!
Safiya Eironn
Team | Front-line | Back-line |
Core | ||
Counter | ||
Multi-Fight |
Level Deficit: 100-120
Safiya is the core component of this comp both in her ultimate and her passive. Most fights start off with Eironn dragging enemies into Safiya’s barrier which increases ally attack rating while reducing enemy attack and haste.
Safiya will then typically finish the fight with her ultimate which has one of the highest scalings in the game.
For multiple fights, Lyca, Tasi and even Rowan might be rotated onto other lineups which call for strong alternatives such as Nara (additional pull) or Skriath.
Gwyneth Comp
Team | Front-line | Back-line |
Core | ||
Alternative | ||
Multi-Fight |
Level Deficit: 100-120
Gwyneth is the main damage dealer with all the other heroes seeking to buffer output in any possible way.
There are a few replacements for Lyca in the core comp such as Belinda (for crit), Safiya/Rhazard (for more damage) or even Talene to soak more damage.
Daimon Comp
Team | Front-line | Back-line |
Core | ||
Alternative | ||
Multi-Fight |
Level Deficit: 100-120
Daimon is pretty much your one-man army in this comp. Against enemies with lower damage output, he can even be placed on the frontline in favour of more counter-pick options such as Athalia at the back (plus he gets to gain energy faster).
Other suitable substitutes not mentioned include Talene, Gorvo and even Oden. The idea is to play your best tanks and buy time for Daimon to stack up and in multi-fights, run the tanks you can afford for this comp.
God Comp
Team | Front-line | Back-line |
Core | ||
Alternative | ||
Multi-Fight |
Level Deficit: 100-120
God comp, also known as lockout comp, revolves around activating Ezizh’s passive to deny enemy ultimates while at the same time regenerating energy through Twins, Mehira and Rowan.
Talene/Saurus also offers heals for the team to keep them alive through chip damage. Win condition is typically for Talene/Saurus to gain enough damage over the course of the extended fight and kill enemies off one by one till the fight is over.
Thoran Cheese
Team | Front-line | Back-line |
Core | ||
Alternative | ||
Multi-Fight |
Level Deficit: 100-110
Thoran’s ultimate reflects damage back to enemies depending on the amount he received.
As such, the goal is to basically drag as many enemies as possible beside Thoran so they are within his radius when he silts.
Having his signature item unlocked allows him to do this once and having his SI at +30 adds a second shot, making the strategy a lot more reliable.
Since this method is heavily RNG dependent, many end game players choose to run Thoran Cheese for their first fight in the series.
Eironn Comp
Team | Front-line | Back-line |
Core | ||
Alternative | ||
Multi-Fight |
Level Deficit: 100-110
Losing Safiya means losing a large portion of your buff/debuff and main damage output but shifting the focus to Eironn allows for an earlier burst in situations where ya is too slow to make an impact.
Eironn by himself also has better crowd control options with his freeze which can potentially chain better into Tasi sleep.
Dropping Safiya also allows for more alternative burst options in the form of Zofrath and even Athena, both benefiting from Lyra which can be enough to close fights.
Honourable Mentions
Formations under this category are either new/rising lineups that aren’t widely adopted or only work at lower level of deficit.
Izold is a solo carry who typically stays alive and tops damn _ge charts even with his entire team dead. His recent viability came from his 3/3 furniture with makes his ultimate a lot more reliable on top of CC immunity from +30.
Anthro from discord actually shared this linen_p with me and it’s a lockout comp utilizing Gorvo‘s early CC to ensure no damage taken at all. Notably, the player needs 3 furniture on Skriath and all on Gorvo.
Shemira is kind of in a bad spot right now with much better heroes but fig-ured I should mention her since a lot of people have her built and she’s still ca-pable of 80 levels deficit which isn’t too bad
Belinda comps are pretty outdated at this point but still decent for pushing the sub 80-90 level deficits. Fawkes and Lucius can be easily substituted for Tasi and Lyca while some may choose to even run Eirorin to group enemies up.
Satrana niche of healing reduction, coupled with high damage output and decent survivability makes for a good counter-pick and a decent hero in gen-eral. Having her as a frontline carry also opens up other heroes for multi-fights.
Khazard‘s signature item increases the duration of negative buff effects, mak-king Mehira and Tasi more potent. Khazard is also capable of considerable crowd control and damage. Some sub-stitutes include Arthur and Nakoruru.
Flora is an unkillable source of damage with synergizes really well with the survivability offered by Talene and Or-thros. This is also a PvP lineup but it’s PvE variant tends to run Daimon more than Flora nowadays.
Generic tank and spank build to keep Solise alive and have her do all the damage. Requires fairly deep investment in the form of +30 Signature and +3 Furniture for Solise to perform.
Formations shown here were aggregated from data based on formations used in chapters 27 to 34. Best PvP Teams in AFK Arena
Made by Grub from Inquisitors
God Comp
This team works entirely based on Ezizh’s passive which prevents the enemy team from ulting for 2 seconds every time an ally ults.
Twins function as the catalyst in this team with their ultimate providing cc immunity and helping to sustain the ult Spam to stop the enemy team from being able to user their ultimate.
Ezizh passive and grouping then allows a carry such as Talene to scale without worrying about a huge chunk of what the enemy can do.
This team is the best in arena due to it’s offensive and defensive capabilities.
Gwyneth Burst
The idea of this team is to position the enemy team so that as many of them as possible are hit by Gwyn’s opening combo. Eironn positions them while Lyca and Lorsan buffs Gwyneth’s damage. Lorsan provides his link to increase burst damage substantially.
This is stronger than the Nako version against non-Nako teams.
This comp excels at attack, but struggles as a defense team.
Flora Stall
This team is based on controlling the battle and grouping the enemy team whilst scaling damage and tankiness as the fight goes on. This allows Flora to continually dish out great damage and haste reduction with her furniture.
This team is a recent development at the highest level in the Legends Tournament. It provides an incredibly strong counter to the God Comp even at low sorcery levels. However, be warned, it requires a pretty high level of investment. Skreg 9 is vital for this team since it allows the dive based team to take control of the fight on the floor. This then allows flora to deal massive damage at her behest.
Talene here functions as a healer to further increase the bulk of the team, as well as gradually scaling to a frightening level. Her healing particularly helps Orthos bridge the gap as he begins to scale to his maximum power.
- Artifact Recommendation: Blade, Eye, Drape, Vitality
Mezoth: Wroth functions as an extreme amount of control and bulk. Potentially the strongest option here with his ult which allows even more damage onto opposing carries in the backline. He also excels in the early-mid stages of the fight and again can provide the bulk to allow Orthos to scale over time with his passive.
- Artifact Recommendation: Vitality, Drape, Call
Skreg with his 9 has proven to be a huge riser in the meta and is powerful enough to facilitate the existence of very powerful control and duration based teams. Skreg himself provides control and bulk in abundance and is a vital part of this team and likely other teams in the future.
- Artifact Recommendation: Vitality, Drape
Flora provides extreme damage In an AoE which as the fight goes on, Is often a victory condition in itself. She also provides healing in the same vein which also makes the frontline even more dangerous allowing Flora in turn to output even more damage. Her furniture also provides an excellent haste reduction which helps counter sustenance based teams in particular, and makes the frontline once again very hard to kill. Artifact Recommendation: Blade, Eye, Call
Orthros provides an extreme amount of bulk as the fight goes on. Normally with a substantially tanky team It Is likely that he gets to the point of having insane bulk which makes him nearly unstoppable. His furniture also provides control as well in stunning nearby enemies with his 3 and giving a single ally a strong haste buff as well as the ability to move and attack during his ult.
- Artifact Recommendation: Vitality, Drape, Call
Thoran provides bulk and helps stall the fight in a similar way to Meicith/Orthos. He is however less efficient in doing so, and doesn’t synergise well with Skreg 9. This would be a substitute to consider if you still wished to run the team without Skreg 9 or other elements.
- Artifact Recommendation: Vitality, Drape
Wu Kong provides bulk and damage in abundance as well as superb protection from burst and heavy damage from the early period. Represents an excellent option here, but is slightly outpaced by the bulk and control of Orthos and Mezoth.
- Artifact Recommendation: Vitality (If not 9/9 Furniture). Drape, Call, Blade
Graveborn Celestial
As above, this team is based on controlling the battle whilst allowing your damage and tankiness to scale as the fight goes on.
This team is based around Talene and/or Orthros scaling up damage whilst Athalia and/or Nara provides disruption against any carries that threaten to burst it down.
Mauler Core
This is based around Skreg’s 9/9 furniture primarily providing insane buffs around a team that is designed to cross to the other side of the field.
Satrana excels at burst and is proving to be a potent counter to the tankier based teams.
Numisu is incredibly underrated in his utility healing and disruption whilst Tidus provides significant damage and additional disruption aswell.
Ezizh nicely ties this lineup together with his ability to group.
Best End-Game Team Comps by Shizzam
PvE Teams
While individual heroes may be strong, the key is to build teams that complement each other such that their skills compound and act as force multipliers. For instance, 1 cc is great, but once you have 2 or 3, the enemy team can be permanently cc’d.
This is not exhaustive, there are lots of other great hero combos.
God Team: +
/
The enemy is always cc’d (colloquially known as the god comp)
Stacked Gwyneth: /
Buff Gwyneth’s damage and speed. Gwyneth can be replaced by Khazard or any other ranged damage dealer.
Hit and run: +
/
+
Quickly group the enemy and burst them down with AoE, avoid taking damage.
Deny:
The enemy never heals, never has energy.
Perma stun:
Rowan ults, refills Rosa, Rosa charges rowan who ults. Enemy is permanently stunned.
Manhattan project:
A race to Safiya’s ult to wipe the enemy before they wipe you
Thoran cheese: +
/
Bring all the heroes close enough for Thoran’s ult.
PvP Teams
As mentioned in the pve section, this is by all means not all the hero combinations – just the ones where each hero’s abilities complement each other in a way that provides a significant force multiplier for your team.
Energy battery:
Your team casts ultimates quickly and often, as well as locking down the enemy from casting ultimates
Burst
Your team attacks first (needs Zolrath’s furniture) and attacks hard.
Deny
Your enemy suffers lots of debuffs, losing hp, haste, energy and health regen, crippling their effectiveness.
Quick Guide to AFK Arena Best Teams for Beginners
For new players who do not want to spend money on AFK Arena, one of your first x10 Summons must have Shemira. She will make your journey a lot easier.
The absolutely best tip for all new beginners is to understand which faction to focus on first and what should be the main carry of the team. Only spend your faction scrolls on that one faction and do your best to get your main carry to the ascended tier and pick a suitable team for him/her by making the most of the Tavern Wishlist and Event Rewards.

Maulers are not a recommended faction for free to play players so I do not want to mention it in this section.
3-skill Heroes are 99% fodders. You can use them to ascend other Heroes without even thinking.
Hopefully, you have got yourself a great AFK Arena Team after reading this guide!
This guide showcases situation specific team compositions that might help you progress.
As a rule of thumb you should use the heroes with the highest ascension tier available to you in a composition that maximizes the faction bonus, but sometimes a single substitution or quirky line-up change can make all the difference.
Most of these teams have been assembled and tested by me, others were submitted by a good friend of mine or observed being used successfully in the arena/ legends’ challenger tournament.
1. I´m walking here
A team comp that’s effective against enemy teams that heavily rely on their warrior and agility type heroes (Ankhira, Golus, Grezhul, Brutus, Baden). Rosaline will soak up a little bit of damage while dragging the enemy frontline hero to Lucius where a cluster of enemies forms that’ll be taken out by Belinda’s enormous aoe damage. Athalia and Fawkes provide the much needed CC and distract or even kill the vulnerable enemy backline.
Pros: Satisfy your thirst for Belinda’s lightning showers.
Cons: Athalia is difficult to ascend, and if your Rosaline is severely undergeared she might not be able to survive her stroll. Struggles against tanks which can displace Lucius, Arden for example.
2. Shemira and the Battery Packs
What this team lacks in single target dps it makes up for with Rosaline-/Rowan’s energy restoration capabilities. As those bars are filling up Rowan’s potent potions and Nara’s ability to lockdown the enemy carry are what’s keeping the team afloat.
If Shemira survives long enough she will quickly turn the tides of the battle with consecutive ultimates.
3. The Midgame Powerhouse
Powerful midgame composition with just enough CC to keep your frontline alive.
Disadvantages: Saveas needs to be overleveled for this to work.
4. Tornadoes and Wrecking Balls
The fight for Middle-earth and make Master Splinter proud line-up doesn’t disappoint when it comes to aesthetics. Fortunately, it packs a punch as well. This 4+1 formation provides the much appreciated defensive faction buff for Eironn. Position him in the middle for maximum efficiency.
Pros: Looks cool and annihilates certain teams within seconds. Solid for pvp.
Cons: Eironn and Gorvo can be overwhelmed by the enemies Eironn pulls through his vortex ability.
Not suitable for pve until Eironn and Gorvo have reached mythic tier and seen their respective signature items unlocked.
5. Wrizz’ Nightmare
Another midgame Lightbearer team. Lucius shields the team while Raine and Estrilda boost the numbers. Shemira can replace Belinda. For the endgame I’d suggest something along the lines of Warek or Raine, Shemira, Rosaline, the twins(Elijah & Lailah) and Baden.
